The successful purchase of the nineteen million litre independent, Kent-based fuel distributor is the second acquisition for NWF in the last 12 months, in line with its strategy to grow the fuel distribution business. Described in a board announcement as ‘complementing Home Counties Fuels, NWF’s Kent-based commercial fuel distribution operation’, the acquisition supports the group’s development in the South East.
Expansion strategy
With a growth strategy for the fuel distribution business, in which it is the third largest player in the UK, NWF is looking to both expand the geographic coverage within the UK and consolidate businesses adjacent to the existing depot network.
NWF’s acquisition of Sweetfuels Limited (announced in December last year) ‘has been integrated as planned and is performing well’.
