On the road to success

This month’s Cornish front cover star, Consols Oils, has entered its Isuzu Truck Forward N75.150 (M) Urban 7.5 tonners for the title of 2018 Fuel Oil News tanker of the year.

“It’s a cracking vehicle that can handle all the difficulties faced when delivering fuels and lubricants to customers across Cornwall, whether they’re in remote locations or in small villages with narrow access restrictions,” said Kevin Bennetts, managing director of Consols Oils.

“We’ve had a lot of enquiries for this little fellow,” said Tasca Tankers’ Shaun Harte.

“At seven and a half tonnes and carrying just 5,000 litres, it’s one of those awkward builds that not many want to tackle.  This mini tanker takes as long to build as a six-wheeler but it’s the perfect solution for those difficult areas to access like those close to us in North Yorkshire.

“Working on the design with Kevin Bennetts, this tanker resulted in a completely new build with an aluminium body to make it as light as possible.  Consols Oils are very happy with their big investment and we’re finding there’s a lot of interest in what what’ve been doing.”
