Olympic champion to speak at UKIFDA fuel distribution industry dinner 2023

Inspirational Great British gold medallist Amy Williams will be the after-dinner speaker at the 2023 UKIFDA Show Dinner, sponsored by Mabanaft.

UKIFDA announces Olympic gold medallist Amy Williams as 2023 UKIFDA Show Dinner speaker

Announcing the exciting news Ken Cronin, UKIFDA’s Chief Executive, commented: “We’re so pleased Amy has agreed to talk at this year’s event. She is a passionate speaker and has much to share with the industry.”

In 2010, Amy won Britain’s first solo Winter Olympics gold medal for 30 years with victory in the Women’s Skeleton event, travelling at 92 mph in 54 seconds, and the first gold by a British woman in 58 years.

High achiever

Her achievements didn’t end there though as, following her Olympic success, Amy also received an MBE, was awarded the Freedom of Bath and won BBC Sports Personality of the Year. These are just a few of the achievements she’ll be sharing at the awards dinner which takes place on the 10th May at the CBS Arena, Coventry, as part of the annual industry show and conference.

There will be an opportunity to mingle while enjoying pre-dinner drinks with fabulous live background music and Amy’s after dinner speech will follow a delicious three-course meal. She will also present the Young Person award to bring the event to a close.

With the event being one of the most popular in the industry calendar, Dawn Shakespeare, UKIFDA’s membership and events manager, advises those wishing to attend to book now by getting in touch with Dawn at ds@ukifda.org.
