Beginning at the company’s head office in Cragg Vale, the walk will take the team around the boundary of Calderdale above Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden before finishing back in Cragg Vale on Saturday evening.
The purpose of the walk is to not only challenge the team but to also raise money for Watermark Calderdale and The Christie Charity – an initial target of £1,000 has been set.
Having witnessed the effects of the Boxing Day floods on their customers, staff and the local area first hand, the Craggs Energy team is keen to lend its support to Watermark Calderdale, a not-for-profit campaign which aims to build a flood resilience fund accessible to households and business within Calderdale.
Also a not-for-profit organisation, The Christie leads in cancer care, research and education with its charity raising money for a range of projects aimed at giving patients the best possible care and treatment whilst also supporting the families of patients.
“Undoubtedly the walk will be a huge challenge to the team especially the section between Friday night and Saturday morning,” said CEO Chris Bingham.
“However, we’re determined to raise as much money as possible for these fantastic causes with all donations received being split equally between the two charities.
