Greenergy appoints Adam Traeger as CEO

Greenergy has announced the appointment of Adam Traeger as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), which will take effect on 1 August 2024. Adam will take over from current CEO, Christian Flach, who is retiring from the company.

Adam joined Greenergy more than 15 years ago and has held a number of leadership positions across the business, including Head of Strategy and M&A and Director of Investments. For the last five years he has served as Chief Financial Officer. Adam is a chartered accountant and worked for Ernst & Young and Deloitte prior to joining Greenergy.

Deep understanding of the business

Greenergy Founder and Chairman, Andrew Owens, said: “Adam will be an excellent CEO. He has been with Greenergy for over 15 years and has a deep and broad understanding of the business, making him the outstanding candidate to lead Greenergy as it embarks on its next chapter. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Christian for his contribution over the last five years and we wish both our colleagues the very best for the future.”

Outgoing CEO, Christian Flach, said: “It has been a privilege to serve Greenergy, its employees and customers. After five years and with the forthcoming change of ownership, it is now the opportune time for me to step back. I have greatly enjoyed working alongside Adam and I know that he is the right person to take the business forward and I congratulate him on his new position.”

Incoming CEO, Adam Traeger, added: “I would like to thank the Board for their trust. Since joining Greenergy in 2008, I have seen the company transform through many growth phases.  I am now looking forward to working with our people to drive the next growth phases of the company, while maintaining the quality and reliable supply for our customers that Greenergy has been built on.”
