The development of the spill kits has been supported by Oilshield scheme insurers, Aviva, and they are manufactured by Oilshield clients Darcy Spillcare. The ADR compliant kits provide spill containment and recovery capability and have been packaged into a compact, weatherproof, barrel-shaped kit bag for easy stowage on a tanker where space is at a premium.
In addition to Nolan Oils being the first recipient of the new Oilshield Spill Kits, the Oilshield team also provided ‘Safe Delivery and Spill Responder’ training to all of Nolan Oils’ tanker drivers and office staff.
Innovating to protect
Stewart Ower of Oilshield said: “Equipped and trained drivers will be able to act quickly and effectively should a spill occur during delivery. Such a response capability will minimise damage at a client’s premises, protect reputation and minimise spillage claims costs, so benefits all round.
“At Oilshield we continue to innovate to protect the people and businesses we work with.”
Mark Nolan added: “We are delighted to be the first liquid fuel distributor to receive the Oilshield spill kits. Our drivers take great care during deliveries, but it is good to know that if the worst should happen, we are equipped and trained to respond”.
