Hoyer Petrolog UK has completed taking delivery of 253 new trucks in the UK and Ireland as part of a significant upgrade to its petroleum, bitumen and fuel oils fleets.
The new fleet additions include 185 MANs and 68 Scanias on a mixture of three, five and seven year leases. The Hoyer fleet has been enhanced further with the purchase of 111 new petroleum trailers and 26 new bitumen trailers as part of an £8million investment programme. This is made up of 79 Lakeland and 32 COBO petroleum trailers, and 26 Crossland bitumen trailers.
Operations director, Allan Davison, said the acquisition of the new vehicles underpins Hoyer’s position as the market leader in petroleum distribution (as ranked by Fuel Oil News, July 2014) and as a significant player in the bitumen market.
“This investment and growth against the backdrop of an apparently declining market demonstrates that our business strategy is working,” said Allan. “Our petroleum business continues to grow, particularly with customers interested in a full service logistics solution whereby Hoyer monitors stocks, generates orders, plans, delivers and reconciles.
“Our customers are reaping the rewards of the efficient, cost effective solution we can offer in the management of their fuel delivery network. The full service logistics solution service Hoyer offers is proving increasingly popular and part of our new fleet investment has been made to service this growth and further expansion plans in 2015.”
