National oil and waste recycling firm, Slicker Recycling, has lifted an industry award for its outstanding service to one of the UK’s leading independent garage networks.

The Midlands business, which collects and re-refines over 80 million litres of used lubricating oil annually, was presented with the 2023 Servicesure Autocentre ‘Supplier of the Year’ Award at a ceremony in Warwickshire.

Slicker Recycling was chosen ahead of a long list of approved partners for its successful six-year long association with the 600-strong network of UK independent garages.

Sustainable solutions

Throughout the partnership, Slicker Recycling has provided sustainable solutions to meet the waste management needs of Servicesure members. Through an efficient process, collectively members have saved up to 100,000kg of carbon emissions every year, while reducing their waste management spend.

Sean Thorpe, national sales manager at Slicker Recycling said: “It’s always a proud moment to win an award which recognises long-term success and commitment. We are truly grateful to be recognised by Servicesure’s members.

“Not only are we providing an outstanding used oil collection service, but through our carbon-efficient waste-oil-to-base-oil approach, we support the Servicesure Autocentre network by reducing their carbon footprint and help them contribute to the circular economy. We also provide them with a number of hazardous waste management solutions which adhere to the internationally recognised waste hierarchy, which prioritises recycling and re-use.

“Overall, the award is a terrific milestone and I’d like to thank those from Servicesure and the wider industry who have taken the time to send us their best wishes and congratulations.”

Slicker Recycling’s award was collected by Sophie Blackburn and Mike Parker from the company’s New Business team at the ceremony held in Coventry’s historic Coombe Abbey.
