Manufactured in Sweden and detailed as the highest performing product in the industry, the turbine has been developed by experienced ex-Volvo engineers with a keen eye for quality and robust design.
The turbine comes with a 7-year warranty; unrivalled on the market for this size of wind turbine. EC Wind has also agreed to underwrite a performance guarantee on the first 20 turbines sold.
In order to support the introduction of the new turbine, UFW set up a wind division earlier this year, headed up by business development manager, David Taylor.
David believes that product, together with the warranty and performance guarantee is a secure investment: “Obtaining the distribution rights to EC Wind opens a whole new chapter within the development of wind energy in the UK and Ireland. In most cases a return on the capital investment will be realised within the warranty period. We have every faith that it will dominate the market, having already seen an impressive sign up to date.”
The company is currently building a reseller network across the UK and aims to have approximately 10 companies on board by the end of the year. “All installers will be trained in Sweden and will have to carry out a supervised installation in the UK to order to gain full approval.”
UFW has been promoting the turbine at agricultural shows across the country. At the Cheshire Show, where the company was targeting the farming community, David explained: “For us it’s about having a presence, building a profile and ultimately picking up leads. After the initial outlay, the turbine will provide security for dairy farmers and lessen their reliance on the national grid.”
