Thomas Gregory Pearson: 18th December 1939 – 17th September 2026

Thomas Gregory Pearson, known to most as Tom, was a devoted family man, a respected businessman and the founder, along with his wife Rachel.

In 1972, they founded Tom Pearson Oils from their home moving to a purpose-built depot on Sheepbridge Industrial Estate, Chesterfield in 1977. By 1978, the company had become Peak Oil Products (Northern) Limited. From modest beginnings Tom and Rachel created a successful family business serving domestic, agricultural and commercial customers throughout Derbyshire and beyond.

Tom was forward thinking and entrepreneurial, investing in depots, modern vehicles and computer technology. The principles on which he built the company remained simple:  loyalty, exceptional service and treating people well. He valued the people he worked with customers, suppliers and employees, many of whom remained with the business for over 30 years.

Tom will be remembered with enormous affection by all those who knew him and had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Tom died peacefully at home on Thursday 17th September 2026, aged 86, surrounded by his family. He will be laid to rest at 11.00 am on Friday 16th October 2026, at St Swithin’s Church, Holmesfield. S18 7WT.

Our thoughts are with the family at this time.
