Prax fallout contributes to continued expansion of JET network

Six sites across Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire have joined or renewed ties with JET, with the latest additions highlighting the importance of supply security, long-term dealer relationships and retail investment in today’s forecourt market.

The growth forms part of JET’s continued dealer network expansion, building on a year in which the brand says 19 sites joined the network and 30 dealers chose to re-tie. The latest developments bring together a mix of new-to-brand wins and long-standing dealer relationships across the East of England.

Prax fallout continues to reshape dealer relationships

Two of the sites – Harlow Service Station and Epping Service Station – have joined the JET network through K&S Fuels Limited following the Prax insolvency last year.

Both sites were previously part of the Harvest/TotalEnergies network. During the disruption caused by the insolvency, JET stepped in to supply the business and help maintain continuity of fuel supply.

Riqbal “Rocky” Sidhu, director of K&S Fuels Limited, said the support received during a challenging period had been a key factor in the move.

“The support JET gave us during a challenging time made a real difference,” he said. “They were there when we needed them and worked with us in a practical and straightforward way.”

Long-standing family ties

JET’s latest growth also includes Fordham Service Station, a new-to-JET site owned through Arun Capital Ltd by brothers-in-law Siva Kumarasamy and Vijai Sakthivel.

The addition strengthens an already long-standing relationship with the brand. Starthill Service Station, owned by Siva, has been part of the JET network since 2006, while North Terrace, owned by Vijai, has been associated with JET since 1991 and under his ownership since 2015.

Together, the three sites reflect the role that long-term supplier relationships continue to play within the independent dealer sector.

“We have worked with JET for many years and that relationship has always been built on trust and personal service,” said Siva and Vijai. “As family businesses, that matters to us.”

Retail investment at Bourne Bridge

Elsewhere, Bourne Bridge Service Station in Ipswich joined the JET network on 1 April.

Operated by D Cannon Limited, the former Harvest site has used the transition as an opportunity to invest in its retail offer, with the Shop&Go convenience store reconfigured and doubled in size.

Director Veluppillai Sivarajah, known as Raj, said the move had supported the site’s next phase of development.

“Moving to JET also gave us an opportunity to improve the shop and create a better overall offer for our customers,” he said.

Focus on dealer relationships

Commenting on the latest signings, Naina Patel, Retail Account Manager at Phillips 66 Limited, said the common theme across the sites was the strength of dealer relationships.

“What links these sites to JET is a shared belief in meaningful relationships,” she said. “It’s about listening, understanding what matters to our dealers and responding in a way that supports their business and their customers.”

Including the latest additions, the JET network now comprises 336 sites across the UK, including 325 dealer-owned, dealer-operated locations and 11 company-owned, dealer-operated sites.

JET says it will continue to focus on long-term network development and supporting independent dealers in ways that reflect the needs of individual businesses and local communities.
