The milestone unit, built for WCF Group as part of a fleet expansion and featuring a one-off green metering head, reflects a decade of development that has seen OptiMate move from early innovation to widespread adoption across distributor fleets.
Designed to support contamination-free delivery, the system combines automated processes with integrated metering to improve fuel integrity, operational efficiency and driver workflow.
For the WCF Group, the transition to OptiMate has been driven by a “zero-compromise” approach to fuel quality.
Absolute confidence
Paul Green, General Manager of Operations at WCF Chandlers, previously noted: “We chose OptiMate because its automated features and built-in contamination prevention provide a level of security that is invaluable.
“It’s a proactive measure that gives us absolute confidence in every drop of fuel we deliver.”
WCF Group’s continued investment highlights the growing importance of delivery assurance. Following delivery of the special edition unit, the business will be operating 14 OptiMate systems, with further units scheduled for build.
Brad Wilkie, Managing Director of MechTronic, said: “Reaching 1,000 systems is a testament to the trust our customers place in OptiMate every day.”
Alongside the milestone unit, visitors to the Expo will also be able to see the technology in operation on an Oil 4 Wales tanker, showcasing the latest iteration of the system in a working fleet environment.
Oil 4 Wales was the first distributor to adopt OptiMate a decade ago, and its continued use of the system highlights the long-term role of automation in improving delivery accuracy, reducing contamination risk and supporting efficient operations.
