Well known across the sector for her work establishing the Petroleum Driver Passport Scheme and through her involvement with the Downstream Fuel Distribution Forum, Jenny is running with her husband John in support of a cause that has had a profound personal impact on her family.
John lost his brother, Pete, to motor neurone disease and, more recently, their daughter-in-law’s father, Paul, also passed away following the illness. Throughout both experiences, the family received significant support from the MNDA, inspiring Jenny to raise funds to help the charity continue its vital work supporting families affected by the disease.
“Its been a number of years since we ran the Manchester 10K,” Jenny shared. “But we have decided to give it another go to raise some money for this very worthwhile charity that provided so much support to both Pete and Paul.
“We are not as fast as we used to be and Manchester will be a challenge, but we are in training. Running 20K a week including a 8.5K Sunday jog is no mean feat.”
The Great Manchester Run is one of the UK’s largest and best-supported running events, attracting thousands of participants each year, and Jenny and John will be joining runners from across the country in support of the charity.
Fuel Oil News is proud to support Jenny’s fundraising effort and wishes her the very best for Sunday’s run.
