Mabanaft and BWOC align under MB Energy brand

Mabanaft Ltd and BWOC Ltd are to operate under the MB Energy brand, marking a significant milestone in the group’s brand strategy rollout.

MB Energy brand

After a combined heritage spanning more than 120 years, the two UK wholesale businesses are entering a new phase, aligning under a single, future-focused identity.

As part of the transition, BWOC will formally rebrand as MB Energy Ltd, while Mabanaft Ltd will retain its legal entity name alongside the new brand.

The move brings together longstanding expertise, regional strength and a shared commitment to customer service under one unified presence, as the group looks to strengthen its position in the UK energy wholesale market.

Amy Jones, Managing Director of BWOC, said the company’s established reputation would remain central to its operations: “BWOC has built a strong reputation as a trusted nationwide bulk fuel supplier, valued for its reliability, personal service and deep understanding of customers’ operational needs. We are proud to be aligning more closely in our external identity, while continuing to deliver the dependable, customer-focused service we are known for.”

Caroline Watkins, Regional Head UK at MB Energy, added: “Mabanaft has long been a trusted partner to customers across the UK, delivering tailored fuel solutions supported by deep market expertise. As part of MB Energy, this strength becomes even more visible, reinforced by a broader network and shared expertise across the group.”

Building on established UK operations

Headquartered in Weston-super-Mare, BWOC has grown since its founding in 1982 into a nationwide supplier serving sectors including agriculture, SMEs, hauliers, resellers and the public sector. Its portfolio spans heating oil, diesel, AdBlue and tank telemetry, alongside lower-carbon offerings such as HVO and carbon compensation services.

Mabanaft Ltd, based in London, traces its roots back to 1947 and has developed into a key supplier to commercial and industrial customers across the UK. Its activities include the supply and trading of diesel, gasoil and gasoline, alongside support for customers navigating the energy transition.

Part of wider group integration

The UK alignment forms part of a wider strategy by MB Energy to bring together more than 50 brands from the former Mabanaft Group under a single identity.

André Cardoso, SVP Sales & Marketing at MB Energy, said the rebrand reflects both continuity and ambition: “With MB Energy we have established a clear and unified presence in the market – one face to customers, while maintaining strong regional operations. This enables us to provide a wide range of products and solutions from a single source, while expanding our portfolio with future-oriented energy solutions.”

The group said the transition represents more than a visual change, underlining a shared focus on customer service, innovation and secure, future-oriented energy supply, while maintaining local teams and customer relationships.

New brand, established values

Despite the new identity, both businesses emphasised that their core values remain unchanged.

Under the MB Energy brand, BWOC and Mabanaft will continue to prioritise partnership, reliability and expertise – now supported by greater scale, visibility and access to wider group capabilities.
