The depot was officially launched on 13 January 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Jimmy Johnston from Oilfast. A well-known figure in the region, Johnston brings decades of industry experience and has served customers throughout Dumfries and Galloway with their fuel requirements for many years. The new facility represents a significant investment in local infrastructure and service provision.
Operated by local drivers and support staff, the Cargenbridge depot will enable Oilfast to deliver faster, more efficient and reliable fuel supplies across the region. From the site, customers will have access to a full product range including heating oil, gas oil (red diesel), DERV (white diesel), HVO, IHO, AdBlue and lubricants, serving domestic, agricultural and commercial markets.
Strengthening customer relationships
Oilfast says the new depot will significantly improve delivery efficiency and response times, reinforcing its presence in South West Scotland and supporting consistent supply for customers across Dumfries and Galloway and neighbouring areas.
Commenting on the launch, Tony Stewart, Managing Director at Oilfast, said: “This depot represents an exciting step forward for both Oilfast and the local community. By bringing our services closer to Dumfries and Galloway, we can respond more quickly to customer needs, support local employment, and build even stronger relationships with the homes and businesses we serve.”
To mark the opening of the depot, Oilfast is offering £20 off first orders of heating oil, with one customer also set to win 500 litres of heating oil.
The new depot is the latest step in Oilfast’s ongoing investment in regional infrastructure and supply capability. With the newDumfries facility now operational, Oilfast is positioned to deliver improved service levels to domestic, agricultural and commercial customers across the region.
