A leading provider of sustainable fuel solutions, Prema Energy is passionate about sharing the benefits and practicalities of adopting alternative fuels with businesses across the UK. Aligning with this mission, the partnership with the Sustainable Ports Association, an industry body dedicated to promoting environmental best practices within ports, will play an integral role in supporting UK ports to meet their decarbonisation goals.

Prema Energy and the Sustainable Ports Association share a commitment to action that creates lasting change. Working together, they will be delivering a series of events, both online and in person, to provide expert, easily accessible guidance for marine and logistics companies considering a switch to renewable solutions.

A planned series of visits to ports across the UK will forge deeper connections with key stakeholders. Complemented by co-hosted webinars, these will enable those working in the industry to share their challenges and concerns, receiving, in return, tailored advice on how best to decarbonise their fleet and operations.

Topics covered will include:

  • Decarbonising your fleet’s fuel
  • How ports can use sustainable fuels for shore power
  • Tanking and efficient fuel management
  • The benefits of HVO beyond fleets: rail, logistics, and non-movable machinery

Always-on support will also be provided to all port members who want to investigate the opportunities presented by sustainable fuel and explore different ways to decarbonise.

Stephen Fletcher, Managing Director of Prema Energy, said: “This partnership provides a unique opportunity for two organisations with a shared vision to work together to accelerate the adoption of sustainable fuel in UK ports through education and engagement.

“I’m excited to deepen our relationships with those working in the marine industry, gain a greater understanding of the difficulties they’re navigating with decarbonisation, and share valuable advice based on our years of experience supporting organisations in multiple industries to make the switch to more sustainable ways of working.”

Aaron Driver, CEO and Business Director of the Sustainable Ports Association, said: “To support our ports to become more sustainable, it’s vital that we partner with fuel providers like Prema Energy who understand our members’ need to balance both environmental and commercial concerns. I’m proud that our partnership will include an outreach programme that has the potential to drive lasting change.

“Whether held online or in-person, these informative, interactive sessions will answer our members’ burning questions and explore efficient solutions that can be implemented across their operations.”
