The North West site, which joins Trafford Park and Liverpool Docks, is scheduled to open its doors to the public in September.
According to Certas Energy, the new bunker site is being built due to increased demand from customers and the wider industry operating in the region.
Strategically located near the M62 and M6, the site ensures easy access to major freight routes, and an in-house estimate of at least 100 vehicles a day is to be expected once the site is operational.
The bunker will feature one refuelling station with four pumps, dispensing White Diesel (DERV), Ad-Blue, and Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), making the latter more accessible for haulage and logistics companies in the North West.
Certas Energy also plans to introduce e-HGV charging facilities at the bunker site in the future.
The expansion grows the company’s nationwide network of bunker sites offering HVO directly at the pump to 16 locations.
Mike Heaton, Head of Estate Development at Certas Energy says: “This investment marks an important step in improving access to high-quality, lower-carbon fuels in the North West.
“With demand for HVO at the pump continuing to grow, availability at the Warrington bunker site will offer more consistent supply for logistics and haulage companies operating throughout the region.”
The project will see approximately 30 new personnel on-site throughout its delivery, supporting construction, installation, and operational setup.
