Through service diversification, Alfons Haar is able to better address evolving operational challenges in the liquid fuel distribution sector. The strategic developments will significantly enhance customer support nationwide.

Responding to industry shifts

With decades of expertise in fuel discharge equipment – including pumps, hose-reels, bottom valves, and meters – Alfons Haar has established itself as a trusted supplier in the UK for over 30 years. The company’s latest initiative follows their accreditation as a Self-Verifier and Approved Verifier, which positions them ready to support customers across the country with their calibration requirements.

William Morton, UK & Ireland Sales Manager, explains: “This important addition significantly improves our service offerings allowing us the ability to Self-Verify, Re-Seal and perform periodic Recalibrations on Alfons Haar metering systems across the UK.”

The company’s motivation to expand stems from the growing operational pressures on fuel distributors, especially the need to reduce vehicle downtime and optimise logistics.

“It has become increasingly apparent that the ability to offer this service has huge advantages for customer operations, improving vehicle uptime and reducing unnecessary, costly movements,” William adds.

Enhancing Fleet Efficiency

To support the new Mobile Calibration Division, Alfons Haar has invested in a state-of-the-art fleet and stock management system. The new software solution is designed not only to streamline Alfons Haar’s internal operations but also to deliver measurable benefits to their customers.

“Efficient documentation management is essential for any accredited Calibration provider… it became logical for us to invest in an all-encompassing Fleet Management and Stock Management system,” says Morton.

“We can now offer a complete Fleet Management package with features such as calibration and PMI schedules, compliance documents handling, real-time technician updates, instant digital service documents and tailored customer reports.”

This digital transformation ensures greater transparency, compliance, and efficiency for fleet operators, aligning with the increasingly data-driven nature of fuel logistics.

Investing in the Future

The launch of these services marks a new chapter for Alfons Haar in the UK, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation and customer.

“This investment demonstrates Alfons Haar’s commitment to our customers. It’s an exciting time for the company and this is just the beginning,” William says .

“At Alfons Haar we don’t stand still, and we continue to invest in the development of our products and service offerings.”
