Headquartered in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, family-owned Solo Petroleum has built a strong reputation for prompt and reliable delivery. The distributor also offers services such as oil tank supply and installations, boiler servicing and repairs.

Expanding reach. Enhancing operations

Solo shares a commitment to innovation and excellence that aligns perfectly with Standard Fuel Oils’ own. By combining resources and expertise, and operating more trucks from the Solo depot, the integration will enhance operational capabilities and expands the company’s reach to better serve customers across the Yorkshire area, closing the gap between Liverpool/Manchester across to Immingham.

No jobs will be lost through the acquisition which will see all the staff at Solo become part of the Standard family.

“We are thrilled to welcome Solo Petroleum into the Standard Fuel Oils family,” said Nick Goodwin, Managing Director of Standard Fuel Oils, expressing his enthusiasm at the integration which he describes as “a strategic step forward in our physical fuel supply in the North of England.”

This latest acquisition aligns with the distributor’s ongoing growth strategy. In November 2023, the company acquired River Marine Fuels, a Liverpool-based bunker trader, expanding its marine fuel operations.

In the announcement, customers of both Standard Fuel Oils and Solo Petroleum were assured the transition would be “seamless, with continued access to high-quality products and services”.
