The sponsored bike ride taking place between 5 and 7 September sees a team from the business group connecting the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites as they cycle from Minster to ‘minster.
The team leaves York Minister at noon on Thursday 5 September for a steady 75-mile ride to Newark. After a night’s rest, they will tackle the 100 miles to Flitwick before a gentle 50 miles to Westminster, arriving on Saturday 7 September with an ETA of 12.30pm.
Financial support
Ian Dunn, Strategic Development Manager at Logistics UK said, “Over 1,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every day and we wanted to support Macmillan because so many people we, or our members, know are directly or indirectly affected by the disease. Without financial support, Macmillan can’t help everyone who needs them so all donations for our bike ride are gratefully received and will have a real impact on people’s lives.”

Logistics UK’s employees regularly take part in community and fundraising events including beach cleans, bake sales and charity raffles and the team is looking to surpass the £3,000 Logistics UK raised for Macmillan on a previous sponsored bike ride in 2022.
Dawsongroup Vans Ltd has provided an electric van for the Logistics UK team supporting the riders on the road and Logistics UK Director of Operations, Chris Lipscomb said, “The support team will be intrinsic to the success of the ride and we are so grateful for the use of such a fantastic vehicle to support our riders. As the back up to their efforts, it will be the team’s job to ensure everyone is safe on the roads, fed, watered and refuelled as required. We also have the pleasure of ensuring the ice baths are ready after each stage!”
