Requiring some upgrading work to its fuel tanks, the decision was made to undergo a full knock-down re-build at the site. The new forecourt boasts Esso branding and retains the additional forecourt services such as a carwash, vacuum and water and free-to-use cash machine.
Improving local amenities
The site also boasts the first of Highland Fuels’ Morrisons Daily convenience stores after an agreement was signed between the two companies in 2021. The development has seen the store more than double in size and it now offers a selection of food-to-go, groceries and essentials.
“The Ravenspark development represents a significant investment in our retail forecourt portfolio,” says Stephen Rhodes, managing director of Highland Fuels. “We wanted to invest in the site and in Irvine, providing the local community with an excellent petrol station, but also increasing the local amenities with the addition of Morrisons Daily.
“It’s been an exciting few months watching the development take place, and we’re delighted to see it now open and busier than ever.”
The project was led by Airdrie based Fox Construction and designed by architect Colin MacKenzie. Highland Fuels own and operate 15 forecourts across Scotland from Orkney to Ayrshire.
