DCC operates the former Esso gas station network in France. After the takeover, Implico, together with DCC, implemented a new IT solution for the business.
In record time, the software and consulting company migrated the business IT and back-office processes to the cloud. Since then, 400 gas stations have been replenished entirely automatically via iGOS (Implico Global Operation Services) – everything from forecasting for a reliable resupply to the complete order-to-cash cycle. Each day, around five million litres of fuel flow virtually through the downstream cloud.
“With this software-as-a-service model, we achieve down-to-earth total cost of ownership, providing a flexible platform for growth,” said Peter Quinn, CIO of DCC. “This is a viable concept to win in a tough competitive environment.”
“Today, data has to be accessible at any time, from anywhere, and it must be able to automatically connect with people and systems all over the world,” explained Michael Martens, managing partner at Implico.
Implico bundles innovative cloud services for the downstream industry under the iGOS brand. These data services and software-as-a-service solutions either run in Implico’s own high-performance data center or are managed by other prestigious cloud operators, depending on what the customer requests.
