The milestone follows sustained growth throughout the first quarter of 2012, with TomTom’s install base increasing by 36% year-on-year.
New TomTom customers include Douwe Egberts in the Netherlandsand Clarkson Evans in the UK.
Leading coffee manufacturer Douwe Egberts has enlisted TomTom to help improve its business efficiency and better manage its vehicle fleet. The Utrecht-based firm has implemented TomTom’s integrated tracking and navigation solution after being impressed by its capabilities throughout an extensive trial period.
“The trial demonstrated a clear return on investment with respect to optimized planning, working hours and efficiency,” said Huub Segers, director service operations at Douwe Egberts.
Electrical contractor Clarkson Evans recently deployed TomTom fleet management across itsUKfleet of 160 vans.
“We were able to rapidly introduce TomTom technology across our fleet without the need for lengthy development or use of a complex, customised solution,” said Catherine Mason, Clarkson Evans operations manager.
“We have therefore enjoyed a number of immediate operational benefits and look forward to further efficiency gains in the coming months.”
