An industrial engineer by background, Boris went on to complete a Master’s in Marketing before beginning his career with ExxonMobil in Guatemala, where he spent ten years working across commercial fuels and customer relationship management.

After moving to the UK, he held roles with two oil companies before returning to ExxonMobil. There, he spent four years in the UK Commercial Ground Fuels team before becoming UK and Egypt Aviation Sales Manager, leading aviation sales strategy across the region.

The aviation sector is at a pivotal point in its decarbonisation journey. The UK Sustainable Aviation Fuel mandate, introduced in 2025, has sharpened the focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, accelerating interest in lower-carbon fuel solutions and driving sector innovation.

Boris joined Greenergy in August as Head of Global Aviation Fuels, with responsibility for shaping the company’s global aviation strategy and leading a specialist team.

As part of the Trafigura Group, Greenergy benefits from the scale and global reach of one of the world’s leading commodity groups, with operations spanning commodity supply, infrastructure and industrial assets.

An exciting business

Greenergy is investing in supply infrastructure across the UK and Ireland to support the growth of its aviation business. Through its in-house logistics business, Flexigrid, the company can provide customers with an end-to-end fuel supply solution tailored to their operational requirements and capable of scaling as demand grows.

Commenting on his appointment, Boris said: “I was keen to join an ambitious organisation focused on growth, where I could draw on my decades of experience in fuels and aviation.

“Aviation is an exciting market and Greenergy is at the forefront of the transition to lower-carbon fuels. I look forward to helping drive the aviation business forward.”
