Chemical supply chain awards celebrate industry achievements

The Chemical Business Association (CBA), the voice of the UK chemical supply chain, held its annual awards ceremony in November at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. The evening celebrated the achievements of businesses and individuals from across the whole chemical supply chain with the presentation of numerous awards.

CBA Awards

The ‘Chemmies’, as the awards and the ceremony are now known, was attended by over 350 people including employees from CBA member companies as well as partners, government representatives and stakeholders from not only the UK, but from across the globe.

Charity work

The evening included an informative and moving video about the work of the CBA’s chosen charity for 2024 Breathe Arts Health Research (Breathe). This extraordinary organisation delivers diverse evidence-based programmes across a range of art forms, to meet specific clinical and wellbeing needs. Their groundbreaking work with young people with hemiplegia (a condition caused by a brain injury, that results in varying degrees of weakness or stiffness in one side of the body), uses the art of magic as an intensive bimanual therapy and a way of boosting confidence and communication skills. Nearly £4,000 was raised on the night, bringing the total raised by the CBA in 2024 to over £29,750.

Tim Doggett, CEO of the Chemical Business Association (CBA) and a Director of the Trade Association Forum (TAF) said: “The CBA is a highly respected, leading trade association with significant global influence and the Chemmies have a unique focus on recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements of the chemical supply chain.”

“Our members, many of whom are SMEs and family-run businesses, are the backbone of the wider chemical industry, one of the most important and diverse industries in the world. Their immense achievements deserve not only to be recognised, but whole-heartedly celebrated by such a wide cross section of the chemical supply chain community.”
