From vintage masterpieces to cutting-edge sports cars, you’ll witness the evolution of automotive engineering firsthand. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the most legendary automobiles in history.
The event has been put together by ‘A Driving Force for SSAFA’ volunteers Alex & Harriet Wolfe who are participants in the 2024 event this Summer; supported by the generosity of Robert & Tanya Lewis, who have dedicated over two decades to raising funds for military charities and have given access to their incredible museum for this event.
Alex and Harriet are taking part in A Driving Force for SSAFA 2024 after enjoying every single minute of the 2022 event which raised over £170,000 for SSAFA!
Alex Wolfe MBA, an Energy Leader and Early Years Nursery Owner from Southfields, London said: “Harriet and I met Robert Law, owner of this great collection, at classic Le Mans last Summer and we are very grateful to him for opening his unique collection – it really will be every car fan’s Christmas Day and a chance to see some of the rarest cars in the UK!
“Get ready for an evening filled with automotive wonders, camaraderie, and the satisfaction of supporting the noble cause that is SSAFA, the armed forces charity. We hope you can join us for the Night at the Car Museum!”
150 years of industry history
And Alex had a special message for those in the Fuel Oil Community: “Fuel Oil News readers, I would be delighted and honoured if you could attend Night at the car museum on 29th February to support SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.
“Those working in the fuel industry will be blown away by the collection of pumps, pump heads and fuel memorabilia that Robert & Tanya Lewis have collected. It really is a history of last 150 years of our industry, and it’s surrounded by some of the rarest cars in the UK.
“Although there will be 90+ vehicles to see on the 29th February, my favourites are the Kenworth Truck from the Transformer Movie, a Lamborghini Tractor in Gulf colours and a beautiful Jaguar D-type that raced at Le Mans ( F1 cars didn’t even make my top 3!).
“SSAFA helps anyone and their families that have served in the Armed Forces. The fuel industry both fuels the armed forces but so many veterans also have their post-forces career within the sector.
“It would be great to see as many as possible Fuel Oil News readers on the 29th February.” Alex Wolfe, Energy Leader

Making a difference
By attending this unique event, you’ll contribute to the charity’s vital work and make a difference in the lives of those who have served our country. SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of practical, emotional, and financial support for the UK military’s serving personnel and veterans of the Royal Navy, British Army and the Royal Air Force, and their families.
For 138 years, making them one of the UK’s longest serving military charities, SSAFA has shown its commitment to ensuring that our service men and women, veterans and their families get the best possible support when they need it.
The SSAFA family includes the Military Wives Choirs, both an independent charity and a subsidiary of SSAFA, which supports women across the military community. SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person: “We are here for that person – any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us.”
