Sponsored by OAMPS – the specialist insurance advisor to the hazardous fuels and environmental industries – for the 20th consecutive year, the 2021 Driver of the Year Award celebrates the best UKIFDA member drivers in the industry.
The criteria for entering is that your company must be a member of UKIFDA, while judges are looking for that driver who not only has an outstanding safety record but has really gone that ‘extra mile’ for customers.
UKIFDA CEO, Ken Cronin, comments: “This past year has been unprecedented and we are sure our members’ drivers have gone above and beyond in what were difficult times so we are looking forward to reading about our industry’s exceptional drivers and as we had no awards last year, we hope to have even more entries and there is plenty of time to get those nominations in before the closing date at the end of May.”
Karl Jones, account director of OAMPS hazardous industries, comments: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Driver of the Year award for the 20th consecutive year. By creating a competition that encourages all tanker drivers to be the best they can be in every aspect of their job – from safety to efficiency as well as customer service – we feel we’re not only rewarding the drivers, but supporting the wider industry by championing the delivery of cleaner energy solutions and raising awareness around the environmental impact of accidental spillages. As ever, we expect to be hugely impressed not only by the ultimate winner but also by the attitudes and achievements of all nominees.”
As well as the title of Driver of the Year, £1000 prize money and certificate, the 2021 winner will this year have their award presented during a virtual presentation ceremony during UKIFDA EXPO 2021 and Future Fuels on 7-8th July 2021.
Applications for the Driver of the Year Award can be sent to UKIFDA before 31 May 2021 and application forms and more information can be obtained from UKIFDA Membership and Events Manager Dawn Shakespeare ds@ukifda.org or from the Members area of the UKIFDA website.
