The Northamptonshire-based fuel distributor’s Watford Depot has retained its Silver FORS status for the sixth consecutive year, while its Oakley Depot progressed from Bronze to Silver after joining the scheme in 2025.
Raising the bar on transport standards
Howard Marriott, Group Transport Manager at Barton Petroleum, explained the company’s approach:
“Our Watford Depot has recently retained its FORS Silver status for the sixth consecutive year. We held our FORS Bronze accreditation for many years and progressed to Silver in 2020.
“In 2025 we decided to add our Oakley Depot to our FORS accreditation and, after successfully achieving Bronze, we quickly progressed to Silver. We made the decision to add another depot because we found that many of the larger construction projects in the area required FORS Silver as a minimum standard for suppliers.
“FORS Silver also aligns with the Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) standard for ensuring safer construction vehicle journeys.”
Commitment to continuous improvement
For Barton Petroleum, the accreditation forms part of a wider commitment to maintaining high standards across its transport operations.
