Drum of Wartle Filling Station, near Inverurie, and Craigellachie Filling Station in Moray have joined the JET network, taking the total number of JET-branded sites in Scotland to 50, of which 12 are supplied by Highland Fuels.
The sites, both competitive wins, represent further growth for Highland Fuels in Scotland’s independent retail forecourt market.
The additions also extend JET’s geographical reach. Drum of Wartle becomes the brand’s first site in Aberdeenshire, while Craigellachie is its second in Moray. There are now 50 JET-branded sites across Scotland.
Supporting independent forecourts
Located on the A920, Drum of Wartle Filling Station was acquired earlier this year by Buccaneer Fuels Limited and has since been developed to include a larger Premier convenience store and an expanded food-to-go offer.
Its move to Highland Fuels supply and JET branding forms part of the operator’s wider investment in strengthening the site’s offer to local residents and passing motorists.
Craigellachie Filling Station serves both the local Speyside community and visitors to the region. Operated by Craigellachie Filling Station Limited, the forecourt includes a large Londis store, Costa Coffee, pay-at-the-pump facilities, a 50kW electric vehicle charger and a modern vehicle-valeting offer.
Colin White, director of Craigellachie Filling Station, described the switch to JET through Highland Fuels as “one of the best decisions the business has made”.
He highlighted the value of straightforward and reliable service in a rural location, alongside the visibility and customer confidence provided by the JET brand.
“The relationship feels fully supportive and collaborative, rather than simply contractual,” he added.
Local service and national branding
Ian Burgess, retail sales representative at Highland Fuels, said the sites reflected the type of independently operated businesses the company was proud to support.
“What matters to us is helping each site make the most of what makes it distinctive, whether that is serving passing traffic on a key route, supporting a rural catchment or meeting the needs of both local residents and tourists,” he said.
“That local understanding, backed by the strength of the JET brand, is what makes this arrangement work so well.”
Paul Yates, retail account manager for Scotland at Phillips 66 Limited, said the two additions built on an arrangement already well established in the region. “Both show how a strong forecourt and convenience offer, backed by a trusted fuel brand, can be shaped around local needs,” he said.
The latest additions continue the growth of the JET brand and demonstrate Highland Fuels’ continuing growth into Scotland’s branded retail forecourt sector while retaining an emphasis on locally delivered service.
