The company is running a community competition in the lead-up to The Hollies Heritage Day, which will take place on 26 June at The Hollies Truckstop in Cannock – widely recognised as the UK’s oldest truckstop.
A familiar landmark for generations of drivers, The Hollies has built a reputation over decades for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and traditional truckstop breakfasts.
Since acquiring the site in 2021, Certas Energy has invested significantly in upgrading facilities, safety standards and customer amenities. The company says improvements made at The Hollies are helping to set the benchmark for future developments across its wider truckstop network, including recently acquired sites at Watling Street and Ecclefechan.
The Heritage Day event will celebrate the truckstop’s long-standing role within both the road transport sector and the local community, while providing an opportunity for visitors to learn more about Certas Energy’s ongoing investment strategy. Taking place from 12pm to 5pm on Friday 26 June at The Hollies Truckstop, Four Crosses, Cannock, the event is open to truck drivers, local residents and members of the public.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of activities throughout the day, including food and refreshments, family entertainment and opportunities to meet members of the Certas Energy team.
Memories invited
Ahead of the event, Certas Energy is encouraging drivers past and present to share their stories and memories of The Hollies, helping to celebrate the site’s place in the history of UK road transport.
Dave Weaver, Regional Truckstop Manger for Certas, explains: “From road trips to family visits, first jobs to lifelong friendships, The Hollies, TheStop has been part of so many stories – now it’s time to tell yours.
“To celebrate The Hollies Heritage Day, we’re inviting you to share your favourite memories, photos or videos for the chance to win x2 £150 Virgin Experience vouchers. Plus, your story could be brought to life at our event on 26th June.”
We can’t wait to see what The Hollies means to you!”
