Acquisitions and long-term supply contract for JET Retail UK

As part of its long-term strategy to grow its company-owned portfolio alongside the continued expansion of its dealer network, JET Retail UK has made further acquisitions

JET Retail UK
Simpson Oils, a longstanding wholesale customer of Phillips 66, has signed a long-term contract for the supply of fuel to its Francis Street site in Wick

Millpool Service Station was acquired in late January from independent operator, UK Forecourts, owned by Kris Navaratnam.  The acquisition of this ESSO branded site brought JET’s company-owned portfolio to 10 sites. Located on the A435, to the south of Birmingham, the site will soon be rebranded.
Further strengthening its presence in the north of England in February, JET acquired the BP branded Linden Service Station from owner Yunus Asmal, bringing its company owned network to 11 sites. The Linden site will be given the latest JET forecourt image in the coming weeks.
JET also secured another site win in the Scottish Highlands when Simpson Oils chose JET to supply the Francis Street service station in Wick, Caithness.  This is JET’s second most northerly site in the UK with the furthest being Simpson Oils Ormlie site in Thurso.
Since acquiring Francis Street in September 2019, Simpson Oils has made some infrastructure improvements.  Further plans are in place to install new pumps, update the forecourt shop and hopefully add JET ULTRA premium unleaded to the fuel offering.
At Simpson Oils, a longstanding wholesale customer of Phillips 66, director Hugh Simpson, said:
“Having been a Phillips 66 wholesale distributor since 2009, our decision to appoint JET as our supplier for our first venture into forecourt retailing with Ormlie felt like a natural progression. And it was certainly the right decision as we’ve been very impressed with all aspects of JET’s supply package and the positive impact the fuel brand has had on our retail business.
Speaking about the two acquisitions, Mary Wolf, director of JET Retail UK was ‘delighted at the Linden acquisition in our heartland of Yorkshire’ and added that Millpool would be ‘a fantastic addition to our company-owned network to help further strengthen our well-established heritage and reputation in the Midlands’.
Commenting on Simpson Oils, Paul Yates, JET’s retail account manager for Scotland, remarked:
“We’re delighted that Simpson Oils has chosen us to supply Francis Street.  Our Scottish network is thriving and now spans from Thurso in the north to Dumfries in the south, and from Duns in the east to Kyle of Lochalsh in the west.”
