CLH-PS takes ‘crucial step’ in UK operations and maintenance

“The insourcing of our operations and maintenance services will increase our level of ownership and will allow us to deliver a more efficient service,” says commercial director Nacho Casajús

On 1st November 2016 all staff at the company’s petroleum storage depots around the UK started working directly for CLH-PS with the common objective of guaranteeing safety excellence and reliability of operations.

This insourcing move in operations and maintenance followed the end of the outsourcing contract that the company had with Costain which was inherited when CLH-PS bought the network from the Ministry of Defence in May 2015.

“This is a crucial step in our objective to become a successful business and a reference for the industry in the UK,” said commercial director Nacho Casajús.

“The insourcing of our operations and maintenance services will increase our level of ownership and will allow us to deliver a more efficient service. As a consequence, we´ll be in a better position to fulfil the commitments with our customers.”

A dedicated team of six people, with the added support of the different departments within the company, has been working over the last ten months to make sure the onboarding of the new staff and the transfer of the operations would take place in the smoothest possible way. With the conclusion of the insourcing process, CLH-PS has more than doubled their workforce around England and Scotland.

Complying with current safety and environmental regulation and improving its business model have been two of the company´s main objectives since its creation and this will continue. The Company has put in place an ambitious investment plan that aims to radically modernise the networks assets by 2019.

“We’re introducing the advanced technologies that we need in order to offer our clients a simpler and more efficient service while we guarantee the wellbeing of the environment and the communities around our sites,” added Nacho Casajús.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to bring some fresh air into a matured market, offering a new value proposition and improved services.”
