Established in 1999, initially as one of the first commercial pioneers of biodiesel, ESL Fuels is a blender and supplier that specialises in the manufacture of innovative fuel products such as Ultra 35

Manufactured at Stanlow using high quality virgin grade distillate, Ultra 35 is specifically designed to give best performance as a heating oil rather than trying to achieve the compromise of being a heating oil and off road engine oil.

“One billion litres of Ultra 35 is a landmark production figure for our business,” commented managing director Stephen Whittaker.

“That we have been able to achieve this in an increasingly competitive market, and faced with ever more exacting industry standards, is a ringing endorsement for the consistent quality of this heating oil product.”

Ultra 35 is a dedicated heating oil unconstrained by different engine specifications and is therefore able to offer boiler engineers consistently proven performance across a range of commercial applications, from schools and hospitals through to quarries.

Despite heating oil being a largely weather-dependent purchase, sales of Ultra 35 have regularly topped 100 million litres each year and now account for almost 90% of ESL Fuels’ business which also takes in the marine and heavy duty haulage markets.

The one billion litre milestone underlines the popularity and reliability of this clean-burning, FAME-free product which is proven all year round at -17°C, a significant improvement on the -12°C offered by traditional winter grade gas oils.

Product performance is matched by efficient distribution and service support, with nationwide, next day delivery of Ultra 35 maintained through ESL Fuels’ long established relationship with the UK’s largest fuel distributor, Certas Energy.
