Three drivers working at Kingsbury and Stanlow took the top prizes in HOYER’s 2016 driver of the year competition

James Givens who works on the Petrolog fleet at Kingsbury took first prize of a trophy and a £2,250 Red Letter Day prize voucher.  In second and third places were Paul Greenan who works on the Esso contract at Stanlow and Stephen Pick, a Kingsbury-based Shell contract driver; both were presented with a trophy and Red Letter Day vouchers for £1000 and £500 respectively..

All HOYER drivers competed; the drivers with the highest safety & efficiency scores, taken from the vehicle’s on-board truck computer, along with a faultless safety and service performance, represented their contract and terminal at the final. Final tests at Bruntingthorpe Airfield included skid control, roll-over prevention, defect spotting, steering wheel control, slow speed manoeuvring and a written test.

Hoyer launched its Driver Of The Year competition in the UK last year.

“We’re proud of the standards that all our drivers achieve daily from locations across the country,” said  Mark Binns, MD of HOYER Petrolog UK, who presented the awards.

“The award winners, along with all the finalists, are to be congratulated in showing an exemplary approach to delivering the highest possible quality of service whilst maintaining an outstanding safety performance.”
